AFROX TRANSARC 6013
The AFROX TRANSARC 6013 is a high-quality, rutile-coated E6013 electrode for general-purpose welding of mild steel in all positions. It offers good arc stability, easy slag removal, a smooth weld finish, and works well with both AC and DC power sources, making it suitable for fabrication, repair, and maintenance
R250.00 – R1,100.00
The AFROX TRANSARC 6013 is a rutile-coated mild steel welding electrode of very good quality, designed for general-purpose welding of mild steels. It is a newly developed electrode from Afrox, produced in their local manufacturing facility in Brits, which adheres to high manufacturing practices and standards, regularly audited by bodies like TUV and SABS. Â
Key features of the AFROX TRANSARC 6013 include:
- Good arc stability, providing a smooth and consistent welding experience. Â
- Easy slag removal, simplifying post-weld cleanup. Â
- The ability to produce welds with a smooth and clean finish, making it suitable for applications where appearance is important. Â
- A balanced arc that performs well even with low open-circuit voltage machines, offering versatility across different welding equipment. Â
- Suitability for both AC and DC welding. Â
- Ideal for various applications including fabrication, repair work, maintenance, and construction projects. Â
- Effective for fillet, tack, and butt welding, as well as bridging large joint gaps. Â
The “E6013” designation indicates:
- E: Electrode for arc welding.
- 60: Minimum tensile strength of the deposited weld metal in ksi (approximately 414 MPa).
- 1: All-position welding capability.
- 3: Rutile-based flux coating, suitable for AC and DC. Â
The diameter of the electrode determines its current-carrying capacity and the depth of penetration during welding. AFROX TRANSARC 6013 is available in various diameters (e.g., 2.5mm, 3.15mm, 4.0mm) and packaging sizes (e.g., 1kg, 5kg).
